Job Description: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a 120 foot 3340 Case Sprayer, operation of tandem tender truck and all necessary precautions in mixing, rinsing and application of farm chemicals and fertilizers. An individual with agricultural background would be a great asset and we would be willing to train the right individual.

Qualifications:

- Able to work extended/flexible hours during peaktimes in season

- Current Manitoba Agricultural Ground Pesticide Licence or able to obtain one

- Responsible for handling chemicals within theguideli nes of the label instruction, using basiccomputer and math skills.

- Class 3 licence

- Maintain equipment to ensure safe and accurate application

- Able to work independently and in a team environment

- Organized and able to keep records

Other Duties may include: maintenance of equipment, and trucking (with valid class 3 or class 1 licence); operate a Terra Gator granular fertilizer spreader and tender truck; operate various pieces of farm machinery on nearby farm.

SUMMER ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

The Cartwright Roblin Recreation Department is now accepting one, possibly two summer employment positions for the period of: middle of June to middle of August, 2016 subject to grant funding.

 - 16 -29 years old, fulltime student, returning to school/college/university as full time student.

 - some office and computer skills & the ability to work with young children are assets.

2017 JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT ROCK LAKE UNITED CHURCH CAMP, INC

Rock Lake, Manitoba

Camp Coordinator – Tue. May 23 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and be First Aid and C.P.R. certified. Responsibilities include managing staff and volunteers and overseeing all camp operations including searches and fire drills, promoting camp programs with the other staff and the Program & Leadership Committee of the Board, and running camp in accordance with the United Church Camp Standards Guidelines. Office and organizational skills and leadership experience in a residential camp is recommended. The applicant should have Christian ideals, plan a youth worship program with staff, be able to work with minimal supervision, and relate to people of all ages.  Salary $530/wk.

Program Director – Tue. May 23 – Sun. Aug. 27 Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have had camp experience and show leadership in planning a youth worship program, plan daily programs and themes with other staff. Responsibilities include leadership of games and crafts for large or small groups of children of all ages, lead team meetings as required, assist Coordinator as necessary, and must have First Aid and C.P.R. Some grass mowing, if time permits, before the caretaker starts work. Salary $520/wk.

Waterfront Director/Programmer – Mon. June 26 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 17 years of age have NLS Certification, First Aid, CPR & canoeing experience. Responsibilities include safety & maintenance of beach area & aquatic equipment, life guarding & instructing campers on waterfront safety & canoeing, working with other leaders to plan & direct waterfront activities. Be able to help with other camp activities & programs when necessary.  Salary $500/wk.

Assistant Water Front Director/Programmer – Mon. June 26 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 17 years of age and minimum qualification of Bronze Cross, C.P.R. and First Aid and canoeing experience. Responsibilities include safety & maintenance of beach area and aquatic equipment, life-guarding, working with other leaders to plan and direct waterfront activities and help with other camper programs when needed. Salary $500/wk.

Assistant Programmer/Youth Worship Leader/First Aid Attendant – Mon. June 26 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 17 years of age, and have First Aid and C.P.R. qualifications. Responsibilities include working with the Program Director and other staff members planning and leading activities and a youth worship program for all age groups. As First Aid Attendant, will assist campers with medications and keep inventory control of the infirmary.  Salary $500/wk.

Caretaker – Mon. June 26 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and able to operate yard equipment (riding lawn mower, trimmer, chain saw, etc.). Applicant should have skills in general repair and cleaning and assist with camper programs when needed.  Salary $500/wk.

Head Cook – Mon June 26 – Sun. Aug 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 19 years of age, have Food Handlers Level 1, have experience in menu planning, ordering groceries & ability to cook for large groups. Responsibilities include meal preparation, cleanliness & sanitation of kitchen area. Participation in camp programs if time permits.  Salary $510/wk.

Assistant Cook – Mon. June 26 – Sun. Aug. 27. Applicant must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have Food Handlers Level 1. Responsibilities include assisting the cook in menu planning, meal preparation, cooking for large groups and work with other volunteers.   • Collecting/sorting recycling/ garbage, operating waste transfer station
  • Street/road/ walking trail enhancements, riverbank/ stream debris cleanup
  • Prepare/ promote information to the public on various subjects
  • Assist with other public works department duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Youth aged 15 to 29, living in Manitoba and legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid Social Insurance Number) and have a valid Child Employment Permit if 15 years of age
  • Full-time student intending to return to high school or post-secondary school on a full-time basis
  • Canadian Citizen between 15 and 30 years of age
  • Meets requirements of “Canada Summer Jobs” and/ or “Hometown Green Team” programs
  • Valid class 5 (minimum) driver’s license is required
  • Criminal record check required
  • Ability to operate a tractor, equipment, power tools and computer are assets
